Peace Education I takes a look at Maria Montessori's vision of peace and how we can begin to achieve a peaceful existence for ourselves and the children that we parent or teach. This course offers such information as Power Point presentations in conflict resolution, audio downloads featuring peace-promoting song, inspirational and thought-provoking links, as well as .pdf files that can be used as peace-promoting tools in a classroom or homeschooling environment. Best of all, the discussion board within the course site promotes frank and introspective discussion regarding peace and spirituality in education that results in a warm sense of community and peer support. Peace Education I may be taken concurrently with Album-Building courses for diploma-seeking students. Peace Education I is offered every 16 weeks at a tuition fee of $199.USD. For tuition assistance, please send a letter to the director at lori.director@usamontessori.org indicating your need for free/reduced fee tuition. Students of developing countries are strongly encouraged to apply for tuition assistance, and will be given first consideration. To date, a larger percentage of Peace and Philosophy students have been admitted with tuition fees reduced or waived, and we hope to be able to continue in this trend. The goal of USA Montessori is never to turn away an individual who has the desire to spread peace and education among the world's children based on inability to pay. Peace education covers the following topics:
