USA Montessori eCampus

Greetings Students and Happy July 2010!

Following are some points of interest that may or may not apply to you, but are worth reviewing:

• If you are receiving this email message, that means you are already enrolled in the USA Montessori eCampus which is hosted by Moodle Educational Suites.  Moodle is the software that facilitates our program courses, all the resources contained therein, and allows for collaboration and discussion.  If you do not wish to be enrolled, please let us know.  If you would like to know how to utilize your enrollment by participating in courses, also let us know.
• If you are receiving this message but forgot your username and/or password, we can help you with that, too!  Just drop us a line.
• If you are enrolled, but know of someone else who might benefit from your enrollment other than you, we can easily change your account to a new participant.
• If you require assistance in any way, shape or form, we are here for you.  Some improved ways of contacting me, your program director, are as follows:

Greetings USAM Participants!  Here's some "news you can use":

• Peace II is finally slated to open Friday, June 18th!  After some house-cleaning and re-vamping, it will be "open for business"!  All are welcome to join.  It does not appear on the course roster just yet, but it will be there Friday.  If you'd like me to enroll you internally, just drop me a line.
• If you are receiving this email, you are welcome to participate in any of the USAM eCampus courses!  Your receipt of this email means that you have "active" status with the USAM eCampus.
• Schools wishing to enroll more than one student MAY NOW DO SO AT A SINGLE ENROLLMENT FEE!
• If you are a subscriber and wish to UN-subscribe for any reason, there is an UN-subscribe button on the tuition page at www.usamontessori.org.  Or, just let me know. 
• We've also been working on making 6-9 ALBUMS ONLY available to those of you who want curriculum without all the prerequisite teacher-training stuff--these albums will be available on Friday along with Peace II. 
• Philosophy I and Peace I courses are now cohabitated by both 6-9 Elementary students as well as Montessori Day Care Administration students--we've enjoyed great success with this blend and lots of vivid discussion!  Montessori Day Care Admin students are welcome to carry on with a 6-9 track, or may stay purely with MDCA.

Hello Everyone,

I will be traveling beginning today and until June 1st.  My Internet access from my iPhone will be sketchy.  This weekend is Memorial Day weekend in America, and like many others who travel during long-weekend holidays, I am taking my family to visit my folks "home" in Michigan near our friendly and hospitable Canadian neighbors (the home I grew up in is literally "a stone's throw" from Canada).  Anyway, the things you should keep in mind are the following:

• Your posts will not reach your peers' email until I can return to my office and run "cron" on the main system.  Running "cron" is what distributes your posts from Moodle to emails.  When you do not see your posts arriving in email form, don't panic.  They will ALL come through Tuesday : )  This does not mean to stop posting! 
• If you need me, please send me an email (lori.director@usamontessori.org)  My email on my iPhone is as efficient and reliable as receiving a text message.  My phone alerts me to every email as soon as it arrives.  I don't mind receiving emails (I welcome your communication), but I usually only respond in one or two lines because my phone's tiny keyboard frustrates me : )
• Finally, I WILL be reading your posts on Moodle while I am away; I just won't be responding.  So, again, work as had as you usually do!

For those of you who are taking time off over the Memorial Day weekend, I hope you have a restful and peaceful time.  Don't worry about your studies--enjoy yourself.  The course material will wait for you  : )  But remember, an "absence" of two weeks with no communication will result in your removal from the program (the system automatically does house cleaning).
